Back In The Saddle Again & I May Have Blown Ten BucksNo, I ain’t talkin’ about some bizarre gay deer beastiality (which is clearly what you were thinking), I mean this domain thing. So I paid to have mindovermetal.org mapped to wordpress; Gmail goes kablooey and other such inconveniences rear their ugly heads; now I have reverted everything to their most recent stable state, which is mindovermetal.org redirecting to mindovermetal.wordpress.com … not as tidy, but it sticks for now. I gots me an itchin’ to upload some things, so keep looking. In the meantime, check out the video int with Joel Grind from Toxic Holocaust and the updated transcribed interviews. [...read more] | GAH!! Things …Just wanted to tell ya that I appreciate all of yr input and I hope you continue to send it, even though … my email is on the fritz! Noooooo! Yeah it sucks, but that’s how we digitally roll sometimes. I may be able to summon the Metal power of configuring Gmail with WordPress, but it could mean a weekend of waiting once the wheels are in motion. |
MindOverMetal.org and Gravatar Working ProperlyYAY! So we were down for a day, but now MindOverMetal.org is solidified in the address bar and there’s a gravatar in there, too. That logo and the splash page (which I gotta figure back in somehow) were designed by Keenan Bouchard. He is also working on “Mind Over Metal” lettering to crown the top. I’m also proud to announce that AWAY from VOIVOD has agreed to do the same! I’m excited to see what they come up with … hope you are too! Hails! {MSL} | ROB HALFORD interview! Plus the website is looking good, right? This week, I had the privilege to speak with The Metal God himself, Rob Halford. You can find it here in the ‘AUDIO’ section of ‘Interviews,’ or you can visit the WRUV Archives and stream or download this week’s Mind Over Metal. And yeah … dig the new look of the site. If you have any thoughts, drop me a line or comment. Hails! {MSL} |
Interview: Rob Halford: Metal GodRob Halford … THE Metal God! That’s right, kiddies. Indulge in 15 glorious raw minutes with the man himself. Find out about his new DVD, a possible Black Metal project, whether or not he speaks Italian, and much more! This is completely unabridged. Only the informal beginning and end were omitted, and there was no additional altering beyond reducing the peak levels. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! | Review: BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE – “Dichotomy”Becoming The Archetype – “Dichotomy” [Solid State] … between the inspiration for this album (C.S. Lewis’ Space Odyssey), the reworking of a hymn (8), and their record label itself, one can expect Christian undertones here, which some may find off-putting … however on their third effort they made good choices, like abandoning Metalcore (and clean vox with it), and perhaps more importantly, enlisted Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad) for production duties … Dev also appears on 1, and Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter) lends his voice to 2, which are part of the trio of songs that start the album [...read more] |
Reviews ReorganizedSo that’s done. Each on its own page. Album Covers. Track listings (some with length). May work in more links in the future. Also, the “Album Reviews” page itself has a nifty new thumbnail gallery, sorted by month/year. |
