By the time I finally got around to reserving "beatallica.com" (summer 2003) I discovered I had been beaten to the punch by a fan, Trevor, who grabbed the name to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. I got in touch with him, and he graciously forwarded visitors to beatallica.org, which we owned.When the cease-and-desist notice came down in Feb. 2005, beatallica.org was subject to a DMCA takedown for a while, because we controlled it, but beatallica.com was not! So while all the shit was happening, we were still able to keep in touch with our fanbase (and the press) through beatallica.com.See kids, sometimes cybersquatting is a good thing! Good interview.
