Review : VIKING SKULL - "Heavy Metal Thunder"

Rating: 2.5/5

“Heavy Metal Thunder” is great if you’re looking for background noise for a night of drunken partying and unprotected sex. You won’t remember much of it the morning after, but it will compliment the sound of vomit splattering the inside of your toilet.

Review : VANDERBUYST - "Vanderbuyst"

Rating: 3.5/5

Is this a great album? Not quite. But, is it a great *tribute* album? Most certainly!

Review : BURDEN - "A Hole in the Shell"

Rating: 3/5

This album is a mixed bag of sorts, and sometimes seems rather formulaic. There are a few gems, but otherwise left me expecting more after hearing the “Man Of No Account” EP a few months back.

Review : ARSON ANTHEM - "Insecurity Notoriety"

Rating: 4/5

If you really enjoy older hardcore with a bit of a crust/grind/thrash edge to it, you will certainly enjoy “Insecurity Notoriety”.

Review : SWANS – “My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky”

Rating: 4.5/5

Swans are graceful, vicious, reverent and majestic creatures—the band has vehemently stayed true to their namesake.

Review : WITCHSORROW - "Witchsorrow"

Rating: 4/5

Hailing from the UK, Witchsorrow is a new trio that is influenced by bands such as St.Vitus, Trouble, and Reverend Bizarre. I did get slightly bored with their longer tracks, but I believe they can take advantage of the ability displayed on “Gomorrah” & “Impaler, Tepes” and run with it. Fans of doom metal should definitely check out this great debut from Witchsorrow.
