Gigan - “The Order of the False Eye” [Napalm] … named after a creature that Godzilla once fought (what’s with Extreme Metal bands and Japanese monsters?), the trio truly sounds otherworldly–or at the very least comprised of more members–when this brutal psychedelic cacophony erupts into your ears … the bastard seed of a Hate Eternal, Voivod, and Cynic three-way (you figure out how!), it’s as challenging as it is engaging, and certainly worth your time … the first half is more interesting than the latter and the 21+ min track 9 a noisy, atmospheric, instrumental oddity … FCC OK … Try 1, *2*, 3, 4, 5, 7 … 2008Jul22
