Ministry – “Adios…Puta Madres”
released April 7, 2009 on 13th Planet
What a perfect swan song for Uncle Al and company: an essential live greatest hits of the Dubya-lashing that composed Ministry’s last three albums. This will likely be the only time you hear an official live release of these songs, so I’m pleased they chose to omit tracks found on previous live efforts (popular they may be). Having seen them on this, the C U LaTour, I can say with confidence that this is a very good translation of the live setting, with an even mix and superlative instrument separation. Personally, I would’ve thrown in at least one or two from Cover Up (just for fun), but on the whole, it’s a great way to say goodbye! There will also be a 2-disc DVD release with a documentary called Fuchi Requiem and a different track listing, including classics like “So What,” “N.W.O,” “Just One Fix,” “Thieves,” and the Louis Armstrong cover “What a Wonderful World.”
