Pro-Pain - Absolute Power
Release Date: 2010Aug10 (US)
Label: Regain Records
Rating: 3.5/5

This is the 13th album from the NYC metal/hardcore outfit, Pro-Pain. “Unrestrained” kicks off things with a good mix of metal drums mated to the usual hardcore intensity, complete with breakdowns. Seems rather generic to my ears. “Destroy The Enemy” follows in a similar mold but it becomes interesting in the middle with the guitars taking a cue from Black Sabbath. This is certainly an interesting way of mixing things up. Some of the highlights include “Road To Nowhere”,  ”AWOL” (classic hardcore intensity all-around, similar to Hatebreed), “Hell On Earth” (one of the stronger, more listenable tracks) and “Gone Rogue (I Apologize)”. It may take a while for one to find nuances in this album but it is well worth the listen. This is my first exposure to Pro-Pain and it was a pleasant surprise.

Review : NEPHELIUM - "Coils of Entropy"
Rating: 3.5/5 … While Nephelium should ultimately devise a more unique attack with creative weaponry, this is still a deadly first strike.
