The Devil’s BloodThe Time Of No Time Evermore
released May 25, 2010 on Ván Records

New album from Dutch rock occultists that has finally seen a North American release (originally released in September of 2009). Their influences draw mainly from psychedelic rock from the 1970s and bands such as Black Widow and Coven among others. All lyrics are clean. “The Time Of No Time” is an instrumental. “Evermore” starts off the pacing of this album with a very 70s sound that to me, is reminiscent of Blue Oyster Cult in a way due to the guitars. The instruments are very solid as well. “I’ll Be Your Ghost” is similar as well in structure and instrumentation. “Feeding the Fire with Tears and Blood” is very psychedelic in nature and feels like a slightly uptempo Deep Purple. “The Anti-Kosmik Magick” is the longest track on this CD and seems to take most of the influences and instrumentation mentioned above and fleshes them out onto one palette. Overall, this a very fun CD and if you’re familiar with the roots of metal and want something that will take you back, this album is a good place to start.
