“On Divine Winds” manages to emulate the horrors and realities of war using a potent mix of death/grindcore. Hail of Bullets have written an excellent concept album that encourages the listener to read up on the history of the battles fought between the Allied soldiers and the Japanese Empire.

The enigmatic tribal grind/anarcho-crust collective known as Resistant Culture have announced plans to take their message to the masses on a North American tour this fall. Fans of early Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Amebix, Phobia, Magrudergrind, and Terrorizer, get STOKED.

What continues to be refreshing about Misery Index is their ability to craft meaningful, well-balanced songs with just the right mix of technicality, catchiness, and straight-up brutality.

Colonel Blast are amongst a new breed of Metal bands that does not adhere to genres, but reminds us why that kind of shorthand is useful. I wish them luck, identity, and perhaps a promotion some day; at least ‘Brigadier Blast’ would be alliterative.
