This is a fantastic album from an up-and-coming band who can only get better with time. While it’s easy to think that Black Tusk a clone or knock-off of similar bands from the same area, you’d be doing them a grave disservice if you didn’t listen to this album from start to finish. “Taste The Sin” is easily one of my picks for 2010

Big Ball is a German band that has a very, very strong AC/DC influence in their sound. At first, I thought that they were a glorified cover/club band but after a few listens, it may be fair to say that they just enjoy aping the AC/DC sound in more of a manner of tribute than out-right ripoff.

Griftegård obviously know their chops and if you are into doom metal, this is a release that you won’t want to miss.

From Seattle, The Abominable Iron Sloth is described as a band that draws comparisons to early Nirvana and Eyehategod. Overall, an interesting album that has some elements that interest me and I think you may like it as well.

Overall, this a very fun CD and if you’re familiar with the roots of metal and want something that will take you back, this album is a good place to start.

Burden is a group that is influenced by several metal sub-genres (stoner rock, doom). I can honestly say that with the quality of these songs, this EP gives the listener something to look forward to and if it’s any indication of what the full album will sound like, count me in.

A well-crafted album that has solid instrumentation and humorous lyrics. Sometimes, it’s best to not take yourself too seriously and Droids Attack excels with Must Destroy.

All in all, it’s certainly better than the “Super Bowl Shuffle” but they have a long way to go to find their niche. May I suggest trading in the pigskin for instruments full-time?

This is another decent album for lovers of doom and grunge as well. It doesn’t tread new ground but rather sticks to a trusted method.

Overall, an album chock full of intensity and competent drumming. It feels a bit repetitive in spots and left me wanting to see them expand upon their slow, melodic chops.
