In a single, flooring, gutpunch-to-uppercut combination, drummer Van Williams and guitarist Jeff Loomis announced their departure from Seattle metal titans Nevermore.

On the heels of “The Obsidian Conspiracy”, and a recent headlining tour, NEVERMORE announces a monthlong trek leading Symphony X, Soilwork, Powerglove & Blackguard; followed by another tour of eight dates with the mighty Sepultura.

I was always iffy on Hatesphere, so perhaps Esben “Esse” Hansen (also of As We Fight) will strike the right chord. Also departing is bassist Mixen Lindberg, who will be temporarily replaced for the rest of 2010 by former member Mikael Ehlert.
