To me, stoner rock conjures images of desert scenes and/or longhaired dudes with auto fetishes. Norway’s Lonely Kamel aims to change your perception with plenty of slow, smokey riffs from frigid northern fjords.

I often daydream out of boredom at work and this cover art brings back memories of one of the oddest dreams I’ve ever had. A salty rock start evoked distant strains of Alice in Chains as “Oceans Rise” roared towards me.

Burden is a group that is influenced by several metal sub-genres (stoner rock, doom). I can honestly say that with the quality of these songs, this EP gives the listener something to look forward to and if it’s any indication of what the full album will sound like, count me in.
